Azz Tech Racing League - Round 3

Race Report - Samuel Suopanki

The ATRL race weekend took place on the 1st of November with a six-hour endurance race. We came in ready to fight for the win and felt confident after a solid qualifying session. The track was semi-wet, and we managed to put it in P5, which we were pretty proud of considering the tricky conditions.

At the start, we got an amazing launch and went from fifth to second in just four corners. The car felt great, and after the first hour we were holding second place comfortably, around nine seconds ahead of our championship rivals, Vulkan Motorsport Black. Sadly, they got taken out later in the race, which wasn’t good for them but helped our title hopes.

Around the two-hour mark, the safety car came out while we were running in third. When the green flag waved again, things didn’t go quite to plan as we spun coming out of the last corner and hit the wall. After that, I got in the car and pushed hard, making some great overtakes and showing solid racecraft.

After six tough hours, we brought it home in fourth place. Not the result we were aiming for, but we can be proud of the pace, teamwork, and effort we showed throughout the race. On to the next one.
