Race Report -Tony Griffin

 In Qualifying Ondrej managed to put the car p3 in class which quickly became P2 after the green flag. As the race went on Ondrej managed some stellar pace and after the first 7-8 laps the traffic hit. The leaders were very impatient and Ondrej managed to get past. When we came in for the first stops we had the upper hand however it was a very close fight between the top 2 teams and when a Safety car hit on lap 48 chaos erupted. The leaders got caught up in an accident however later on in the lap we did too. This meant we had to use our 1 fast repair less than a quarter of the way into the race. It was from here on that we realised this was going to be a race of survival and Ondrej managed to bring the car back in for me safely for me to start my double stint. It was an uneventful double stint for me bar a drive through for Incident points and a good battle to get us back into P2 around 20 seconds off P1. Towards the end of my stint disaster struck as my wheel disconnectd at the final corner. We had to tow the car losing us 1 and a half minutes. The hopes of a win was surely over. There was still over 2 hours and now we were 2 laps down in 6th. Ondrej got in the car for a double stint which was cut short due to a safety car. This was great news for us who were p5 at the time after passing p6. I got back in the car now and I was ready to put the race on the line for a good result. I had nailed the restart and now was in p4s wheel tracks. Eventually we got past them but again more heartbreak was to come 20 minutes until the end when we got another drive through for Incident points Ondrej was in the car at the time and put in some immense laps to recover 18 out of the 25 seconds we lost however we had to settle for P5
