Nurburgring 24H - 2026

Race report - Rian Cassidy

Started the Nürburgring 24H from around P8 and the beginning of the race was pretty intense with how packed the field was early on. Unfortunately we got caught up in an incident pretty early which dropped us a long way back and put us around a lap down almost straight away. Not the ideal start at all, especially in a race that long where track position matters so much early on.

After that though, the main goal became just settling into the race and staying consistent. Around the Nürburgring that’s easier said than done because there’s constantly traffic, changing conditions and loads of opportunities to make mistakes. We focused on keeping the car clean, staying out of trouble and slowly working our way back into contention rather than trying to force anything.

Through the night we picked up a little bit of damage here and there just from the nature of multiclass traffic and how difficult the track is in darkness, but overall the car stayed in pretty good shape. The pace stayed solid throughout the race and the consistency really started to pay off as other cars ran into issues, penalties or bigger mistakes.

What looked like a really difficult race after the opening laps slowly turned into a recovery drive. After dropping close to the back of the field within the first couple of laps, we kept chipping away at it stint after stint and managed to climb all the way back to P7 by the finish.

Considering where we were early on, coming away with P7 honestly felt like a strong result. A tough race physically and mentally, but keeping calm, staying consistent and avoiding major mistakes over 24 hours made the difference in the end.
